Master Thesis Student in AI-Driven Optimization for Reconfigurable Quantum Communication Networks (m/f/d
Your mission
- Develop AI-based methods for optimizing switching decisions in reconfigurable quantum communication networks.
- Design and implement machine learning, reinforcement learning, or graph‑based models that exploit the network’s inherent structure.
- Integrate your approach into our existing simulation and optimization framework, and benchmark it against established baselines.
- Work in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team spanning quantum communication, optimization, and machine learning
- Publish and present research findings at academic conferences.
- Contribute to intellectual property generation.
We are looking for a motivated Master’s student eager to write their thesis at the intersection of AI and quantum network optimization. You should have strong mathematical foundations, solid experience in machine learning, and a desire to work independently on challenging research problems.
- Enrolled Master’s student in computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong mathematical maturity, with a solid grasp of linear algebra, graph theory, and ideally combinatorial optimization.
- Demonstrated experience in machine learning, deep learning, and/or reinforcement learning.
- Proficiency in Python; competence in C++ is welcome but not required
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and communicate clearly.
- No prior knowledge of quantum mechanics or quantum communication is necessary—just a willingness to learn the basics.
