As a Financial Analyst Intern in the Planning and Controlling team at Solaris, you will gain detailed insights into the performance of the bank and contribute to its overall success by deriving and sharing relevant insights with various stakeholders. Your work will help steer the business and support informed management decisions.
Your Role
- Your responsibilities include supporting the target-setting process for the overall organization (e.g., revenues, costs, and capital planning).
- You will support the Planning and Controlling team in steering toward the achievement of defined objectives, while ensuring transparency of business results, processes, and strategies.
- You will assist the team in daily operations, such as creating financial models for business decisions, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), and monitoring the revenue and expense budget.
- Additionally, you will provide support in delivering detailed insights into company performance and offering guidance to inform management decisions.

- An Education with a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Economics, Finance, Business, or Mathematics is preferred. Specialization in Controlling or Accounting is a plus.
- Previous internships as a Financial analyst intern, M&A intern, Investment banking intern, or Private equity intern, preferably with touchpoints of the whole P&L statement, are preferred.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting standards (especially HGB and IFRS) is a strong plus and banking knowledge/expertise is preferred.
- Financial modeling skills are required.
- Knowledge of the main office IT tools (in particular Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) and knowledge of programming languages (such as VBA, Python or SQL) are required.
- Professional fluency in English in both speaking and writing is required; German is a significant plus.
- You have an entrepreneurial hands-on and can-do mentality with exceptional analytical expertise and the greatest attention to detail.
- Interest in FinTech and Financial Services is a strong plus and experience in dealing with auditors and regulators is beneficial.
- Previous experience in Investment banking, Private equity or M&A is strongly beneficial.
- At the same time, you are a strong team player and an effective communicator who can operate in a diverse team cross-functionally, take ownership, and demonstrate self-initiative.

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende

Wochenstunden
Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.
