The HFS (HF und SatKom System) department at Fraunhofer IIS specializes in advanced wireless communication systems, with a strong focus on satellite communication and Non-terrestrial Networks (NTN). The department drives innovation in 5G and 6G technologies, AI distributed systems, antenna systems and RF hardware to meet the demands of next-generation networks.
During your working time here, you will be given the following role:
- Application engineering: You design and develop a web-based beamforming visualization tool (GUI) for component configuration and signal analysis.
- Signal processing: You implement antenna-array and beamforming algorithms (e.g., array factor calculation) within the application.
- Cross-functional alignment: You collaborate within a team of software and RF engineers to ensure the software accurately reflects the underlying phased-array behavior.
- You are currently studying Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
- You are interested in antenna technology such as beamforming, phased arrays and satellite communications.
- You have experience in programming, ideally in Python, JavaScript or Vue.js.
- You have a self-driven and creative working style.
- You speak English fluently.
