Overview

Are you a student in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field? Do you want to apply your skills to real-world products at a fast-growing, sustainable startup?

As an R&D Formulations Intern at BIOWEG, you will work hands on designing and optimizing our functional ingredients that eliminate microplastics. You’ll collaborate with experienced scientists to develop prototypes, troubleshoot processes, and translate client requirements into high-performance products.

Your Role

• Track cosmetics and personal-care trends and present new formulation ideas to the R&D team
• Formulate new innovative products and refining existing ones
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain lab equipment safely according to SOPs
• Prepare and maintain detailed records of experiments, formulations, and documentation, including SOPs, MSDS, COAs, and batch logs
• Conduct stability studies on formulations, analyze results, and record associated data

Your Profile

• Currently pursuing a Master’s in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Fluency in English, both verbal and written
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural startup environment
• Demonstrates a natural curiosity and proactive problem-solving mindset, continually seeking innovative solutions to challenges
• Up to two years’ hands-on laboratory experience in cosmetics, coatings, or surfactant formulation preferred
• Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE) and quality-management tools is a plus
• Experience with tools for material analysis especially Rheometer, FT-IR, DSC, SEM, TEM, DMA, XRD, Raman Spectrophotometer, etc. are a plus

This internship is intended for students currently pursuing a relevant Master’s degree program and whose university requires a mandatory internship of at least 5 months. Please only apply if you meet these requirements.
