About Us

We’re 3D Spark, a Hamburg-based tech startup founded by scientists from the prestigious Fraunhofer Society. Our mission? To revolutionize industrial manufacturing through cutting-edge software solutions. Over the past year, we’ve doubled our team and tripled our customer base, automating costing for Deutsche Bahn and supporting Alstom in saving millions.

Why Join Us

  • Build your career in a fast-growing tech startup.
  • Shape an innovative SaaS platform used by manufacturing leaders worldwide.
  • Work in an entrepreneurial setting where your ideas influence the product.
  • Work closely with a small team and experienced professionals.

Your Mission

Product & Feature Development

  • Contribute directly to how new features are conceived, prioritized, and implemented.
  • Help maintain and refine the product backlog, writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with the team.
  • Conduct lightweight user interviews and gather feedback to inform product decisions.
  • Bridge the gap between users, developers, and leadership by translating needs into actionable requirements.

Design & UX

  • Create and iterate wireframes to define new platform features and flows.
  • Apply your eye for design to shape the look and feel of our product.
  • Use and refine UI/UX patterns to improve usability and consistency.
  • Evolve designs based on user and stakeholder feedback.

What You Bring

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing technologies, especially the ~15 industrially relevant 3D printing technologies in polymer, metal, and ceramics.
  • Interest in product ownership — writing user stories, prioritizing features, and thinking about the “why” behind what gets built.
  • Strong visual sense and attention to detail.
  • Enjoy wireframing; experience with Figma, Sketch, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Some experience with UI/UX patterns and user-centered design.
  • Enough technical understanding to work with devs and discuss constraints.
  • Good verbal and written skills; comfortable in intercultural teams.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Use your design and product skills to shape how users experience our platform.
  • Work closely with mentors, gaining hands-on skills that propel your career.
  • Prioritize performance over rigid schedules in a transparent, low-hierarchy culture.
  • Take ownership in a vibrant startup atmosphere, reporting directly to our founders.
