About The Job

  • Grow our Design System in Figma: add new components, polish existing ones, and make sure everything stays consistent.
  • Bring on the Dark Mode: help us design and implement a sleek, user-friendly dark theme.
  • Make it Responsive: ensure our UI looks great on all screen sizes, from laptops to tablets.
  • Boost Accessibility: improve how our apps work for everyone, including users with disabilities.
  • Stay Involved: contribute beyond these tasks and show initiative so new opportunities can arise.
  • Please note: this position is only open to students who are required to complete a mandatory internship (Pflichtpraktikum) as part of their studies.

Who You Are

  • You are currently enrolled as a student in Computer Science, UX/UI Design, Media Tech, or a similar field.
  • You’ve got a good eye for design and know your way around Figma.
  • You know your way around HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • You care about clean design, usability, and accessibility.
  • You are proactive with solid time or project management skills.
  • You are a good communicator, fluent in English, German or other European languages are a plus.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.

Non-EU students can work 140 full or 280 half days per year (raised from 120/240 in March 2024). A working student contract usually fits within this — confirm the exact limits printed on your residence permit.
