Intro

Stratosphere Games is an AAA mobile game developer based in Berlin, Germany, looking for a Game Designer to support the development of existing and upcoming projects.

As a Gameplay Design Intern, your main responsibility is to support the senior designers in the development and refinement of game systems, mechanics, and levels. This includes actively participating in brainstorming and design sessions, providing feedback and suggestions, and contributing to the overall creative process.

Your mission

  • Design & develop new features and systems for products
  • Create and provide multiple potential designs and solutions. Articulate trade-offs and risks between different options
  • Gathering reference materials and conducting research to help inform the design process. This includes staying up-to-date with industry trends and innovations, as well as researching relevant historical or cultural elements that may be relevant to the game's setting or narrative.
  • Playtesting and providing feedback on content in active development.
  • Maintaining and updating design documentation.

Your profile

  • You are still studying or just finished your studies in Game Design
  • An understanding of fundamental game design principles and what makes games fun
  • Basic understanding of common game technologies, processes, and software development
  • Interest in mobile games
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • English skills (written and spoken)
  • Good communication skills
  • Based in Berlin. Please only apply if you live in Berlin. This is not a remote position.

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.
