WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

SimCorp is a major provider of integrated investment management solutions to international financial institutions. Our clients include 300+ of the world’s top asset managers, fund managers, asset servicers, pension and insurance funds, wealth managers, central banks, and sovereign wealth funds.

The Analytics, AI & Data (AAID) team uses corporate data to build internally used data products for the entire company. We deliver, deploy, and maintain a plethora of vital data products such as dashboards, predictive models, web apps, and ad-hoc analyses that are used by all parts of the organization. This helps our colleagues to increase their productivity and thus our customers’ satisfaction, as well as to make better decisions that increase our revenue. Most importantly, we are involved in the entire life cycle of the data product and don’t hand over Proof of Concepts. We develop and deploy all our solutions inhouse, collaborating with several stakeholders within the organization.

Within the AAID team, the Data Research & Insights team supports various departments across the organization with researching new data and developing insights from customer data that can inform decision making. To support these efforts, we are searching for a Student Assistant, Data Research & Insights who can assist in our efforts to increase our knowledge of customers and other relevant entities.

You will work in a collaborative and international team which delivers value to the business with much curiosity and fun.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Use various research methods (e.g. desk research, surveys, databases) which support our overall efforts to gain new insights about our customers.
  • Research and organize financial data for companies including key financial figures, strategic developments and other pertinent information.
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g. Claude or Copilot) to build, test and optimize prompts for repeatable research queries and data extraction
  • Perform basic data analysis (e.g. filtering, aggregating, identifying trends) to support reporting and help teams interpret key findings from the collected data.
  • Manage and maintain the quality of data that we collect for analyses and dashboards including reviewing the priority data points for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support stakeholders across different teams with ad hoc research and data management requests.
  • Utilize data from external data providers (e.g. company financial data, contact data, news) including organizing the data and using it to support ad hoc research requests.

What We Value

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with high achievement; beneficial to have a concentration in Finance, Accounting or comparable quantitative subject
  • 1-2 years of full-time or internship experience working with data or research projects.
  • Experience or familiarity in conducting desk research of companies such as reviewing annual reports, reading financial statements and general online research.
  • Comfortable working with and organizing data in Excel.
  • Effective communicator with fluency in English.
  • Comfortable working with AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini or similar) or a willingness to learn.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience or interest in the financial services sector is an advantage.
  • Highly motivated and eager to learn.
  • Team player and sense of humor.

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
