Our department at the BMW Group focuses on inner compartment and aeroacoustics. We are responsible for customer-related vehicle properties and perform comprehensive car analysis using state-of-the-art facilities, including the world's most silent wind tunnel. You will contribute to developing a robust car simulation workflow using agentic AI programming tools and create an interactive application for intuitive simulation data exploration.
What awaits you?
- You will support the establishment of an automated workflow for a unique in-house acoustic simulation method.
- Furthermore, you will help to develop solutions on professional AI platforms with access to native developed tools and skills.
- In addition, you contribute to creating an interface that enables users to interact with complex simulation data.
- Moreover, you will assist in close collaboration with acoustics experts to refine the created application.
- Studies in computer science, data science, mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Background in machine learning and ideally in simulation (FEM).
- Familiarity with programming languages and tools for data processing, model development, and integration (e.g. Python, VS, GitHub).
- Experience in handling simulation databases and extracting relevant simulation data.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address engineering challenges.
- Creativity and innovation to explore novel approaches and extend existing methods.
- Strong written and oral English and German skills.

Wichtiges für Werkstudierende
Was dieses Praktikum im Bereich Tech in Munich für dich bedeutet — Vergütungsregeln, Sozialabgaben und worauf internationale Studierende achten sollten.
Wochenstunden
Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.
Werkstudenten-RegelnSozialabgaben
Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.
Versicherung prüfenInternationale Studierende
Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
