Beschreibung bereitgestellt von Alpine Business Consulting
Alpine Business Consulting is currently supporting a major Hamburg-based logistics company on a large-scale project to stabilize and modernize their internal financial reporting systems. When data is scattered across multiple legacy platforms, it becomes impossible for decision makers to trust the numbers they see. We are building the tools to fix that. We need a Web Developer Intern to join our team and help create the front-end interfaces that present this information clearly and reliably.
This is a fully remote position. You will work alongside senior consultants who have spent years fixing broken enterprise systems. Rather than focusing on flashy consumer-facing websites, your work will center on building functional, high-performance internal web applications that help a global logistics firm manage its operations. This role is about utility, clean code, and making sure the final product is something a client can use long after our contract ends.
About Alpine Business Consulting
We are a specialized consulting firm that focuses on fixing enterprise performance management (EPM) and reporting systems that have lost their way. Too often, companies invest millions into complex software only to find that the initial setup was rushed. This leaves finance teams struggling with manual spreadsheets and reporting cycles that take weeks instead of days. We step in to reconfigure these platforms or build new ones from scratch, ensuring they provide a single source of truth.
We operate with a philosophy of transparency and predictability. We do not use client projects as a training ground for dozens of junior staff. Instead, we staff projects with experienced professionals who know how to avoid common implementation mistakes. Our goal is always a clean handover. We provide the documentation and the training necessary for our clients to maintain their own systems independently. We value work that is predictable, sustainable, and accurate.
What you will be doing
As a Web Developer Intern, you will be an active member of our development team. Your day-to-day tasks will directly contribute to the tools we are building for our logistics client. You will not be sidelined with minor administrative tasks: you will be in the codebase helping us deliver specific features. Your responsibilities include:
- Developing and refining user interface components using modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Building data visualization dashboards that allow users to drill down into complex financial datasets.
- Assisting with the configuration of web-based reporting tools to ensure they align with the client system architectural requirements.
- Writing clear, technical documentation for every component you build so the client team can maintain it later.
- Collaborating with senior consultants to translate business requirements into functional web features.
- Testing interfaces across different environments to ensure reliability and performance.
- Participating in remote team meetings to discuss progress, roadblocks, and technical solutions.
We do not expect you to be a master of every technology, but we do look for a strong foundation in web development and a willingness to learn how enterprise systems work at scale. This role is well-suited for a student or a recent graduate who prefers logical problem solving over creative design.
- Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with at least one modern framework like React, Vue, or Angular.
- An interest in data and how it can be presented through web interfaces.
- Strong writing skills for creating documentation that is easy for others to follow.
- The ability to manage your own time in a fully remote environment.
- A detail-oriented approach to coding: you care about clean data and simple solutions.
- Comfort communicating technical concepts to team members via video calls and written messages.
This is a full-time, paid internship. The compensation is competitive for the market and reflects the value we place on your contributions to the team. Because we are a fully remote company, you will have the flexibility to work from a location that suits you while still being part of a highly professional environment. You will receive direct mentorship from senior consultants who are experts in enterprise technology. This is an opportunity to see how global logistics firms organize their data and to learn the standards required for professional-grade software development. We provide a structured environment where you can build real-world experience on a significant project.
At Alpine Business Consulting, we prioritize the quality of our output over corporate buzzwords. We believe that if a system is built correctly and documented thoroughly, it will stand the test of time. We apply this same logic to our team members, providing the resources and the clarity you need to do your best work. Our focus is on getting the job done right so that our clients can move forward with confidence in their own data.
