Published September 1, 2026

The TUM Venture Labs are a non-profit initiative of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) – Europe's top-ranked technical university – and UnternehmerTUM, Europe's leading center for innovation and business creation. Together, we build Europe's leading hub for deep-tech and life-science entrepreneurship. In our domain-specific labs, we bring high-tech founding teams from first idea to investor readiness, with access to research facilities, industry partners, mentors, and tailor-made programs.

In this role, you join the nationwide German incubator for battery technology startups (BaStI), which supports founders along the entire value chain – from the early idea through prototyping and scaling to market entry – with access to infrastructure, experts, and capital. In this way, you actively help bring innovations in energy storage more quickly into industrial application.

Your Mission

AI Automation & process development (50%)

  • Keep automations organized, reliable, and easy to maintain.

Operations support (50%)

  • Assist in the planning and execution of startup events and community activities.
  • Support the team with day-to-day operations, including email management, internal communication, and team coordination.
  • Provide operational support for ad-hoc tasks and help keep the team running smoothly.

Your Profile

  • Builder mentality with a passion for translating processes into simple, scalable, low maintenance automation workflows.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s student in a relevant field such as Management & Technology, Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, or a strong portfolio of AI and automation projects.
  • Interest in startups, innovation, deep tech, or the battery/energy ecosystem
  • Curious and systems thinker, eager to experiment with AI tools, no-code platforms, and scripting.
  • Ownership mindset with a bias toward execution, process simplification and optimization.
  • Experience or willingness to learn from Make, Notion, Google Suite, VS Code, App Scripts.
  • Good communication skills and confidence interacting with founders, scientists, and industry partners.
  • Strong written and spoken English.

What we offer

  • A highly dynamic and well-connected work environment with inspiring talents, entrepreneurs, leaders, and experts in Munich's start-up ecosystem.
  • Hybrid work based in Garching near Munich
