Intern Data Scientist (All genders welcome) at the Kia Europe Headquarters in Frankfurt/Main, Germany.

The Requirements

For your internship at Kia Europe you need to be enrolled during the whole internship period in a university within the European Union, preferably Germany. Furthermore, you need a valid visa and an unrestricted permit to work in Germany. We recommend completing a six-month internship with us, as this gives you sufficient time to learn about Kia Europe and familiarize yourself with your topic.

Your Mission

As an Intern Data Scientist, you will develop and advance Ownership Experience Business Intelligence and Data Integration tools and enhance the department's visibility of data and forecasting ability, through the provision of insights that can provide actions to improve business outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Extraction and integration of data from existing systems, such as ERP / SQL databases / SAP
  • Develop reports and analysis for Ownership Experience Teams ( BI, Warranty, technical support, Parts Accessories , Service Marketing, OX Academy)
  • Define, Implement, and Maintain KPIs for Ownership Experience Teams ( BI, Warranty, technical support, Parts Accessories , Service Marketing, OX Academy)
  • Successful maintenance of KPIs database and KPIs reporting.
  • Process and visualize data using Tableau /Python libraries like Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn
  • Understanding Kia EU Ownership Experience Data Structure
  • Supporting Kia EU Ownership Experience Teams in ongoing data interfacing projects
  • Preparing pre-decision materials for Kia EU Ownership Experience based on Data Analysis whenever required
  • Supporting Kia EU Ownership Experience Teams in development and improvement of new warranty reporting portal to track and manage market KPIs

Education

Your talents:

  • Bachelor / Master student in Computer science, mathematics, engineering business, science, or relevant field of study.
  • Knowledge in scripting Phyton and working with SQL
  • Knowledge in data analysis packages or databases, e.g., SQL, SAS, R, SPSS, Python, VBA and visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.
  • Automotive interest will be advantageous

Skills

  • Passion for leveraging AI technologies to enhance BI solutions and transform traditional dashboards into intelligent, data-driven experiences.
  • Curiosity and willingness to explore AI agents, LLM frameworks, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Knowledge in data analysis (ERP/SAP/SQL/Python/R), Strong analytical skills including statistical know-how
  • Open minded – “Think-outside-the-box”- approach
  • Good analytical skills
