We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity as an Intern (m/f/d) – Software Engineer to join our Generative 3D MODSIM R&D team at Dassault Systèmes.

As part of our CATIA Function Driven Generative Design and SIMULIA Structural Generative Engineer portfolios, you will contribute to the integration of AI-based surrogate models to accelerate the design process and enhance simulation performance. Working alongside experienced engineers and researchers, you will gain hands-on experience at the intersection of machine learning and multiphysics simulation, helping ensure Dassault Systèmes remains a technological leader in generative design.

Role Description & Responsibilities

  • You will research, design, and implement AI-driven methods for structural optimization and simulation, advancing next-generation generative engineering capabilities
  • You will translate user and product management requirements into clear functional specifications and actionable development plans
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver innovative software features within our engineering simulation portfolio
  • You will develop, code, and test advanced algorithms in C++, Python, or similar languages, ensuring robustness and scalability
  • You will ensure smooth integration, maintenance, and continuous performance optimization within the broader product ecosystem

You will stay at the forefront of emerging trends in finite element analysis, optimization, and AI applications in engineering, contributing to knowledge sharing within a globally distributed R&D team

Qualifications

  • Ideally, a completed bachelor’s degree in mathematics, computer science, mechanical engineering or similar areas of study
  • First experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) & Finite Element Methods (FEM) in theory as well as preferably in practice
  • Understanding and knowledge in mechanics, mathematics, and/or artificial intelligence architecture such as surrogate models
  • Programming skills in Python, C++ or Fortran are advantageous
  • Fascination for (simulation-based) optimization
  • Very good English language skills in speaking and writing, German language skills are advantageous

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Werkstudenten-Regeln

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Versicherung prüfen

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
