About The Role

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain practical exposure to Operational Technology (OT) security while supporting initiatives that strengthen the organization’s overall security and compliance posture. As part of a collaborative and technical environment, the role is designed for individuals who are motivated to learn, develop foundational cybersecurity skills, and contribute to meaningful security-related projects.

What You Will Do

  • Support security operations with a focus on technical security assessments, including vulnerability assessments and basic penetration testing activities.
  • Assist in identifying and analyzing security vulnerabilities in OT environments.
  • Gain exposure to OT (Operational Technology) systems, including understanding of industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC-UA, or similar.
  • Contribute to improving security controls by working closely with IT and engineering teams.
  • Support technical risk analysis and help track remediation of identified issues.
  • Assist in maintaining lightweight security documentation and aligning technical findings with security requirements.
  • Support preparation of basic security reports and dashboards for internal tracking.

What you will need to succeed

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Information Security, IT, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs) and system security fundamentals.
  • Interest or initial exposure to penetration testing, vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Nmap, Burp Suite, OpenVAS etc.).
  • Curiosity or interest in OT/industrial security and how IT connects with operational systems.
  • Familiarity with common security concepts (e.g., OWASP Top 10, basic threat scenarios).
  • Basic understanding of ISO 27001 or security frameworks (nice to have, not mandatory).
  • Good communication skills in English; German is a plus.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to learn in a hands-on technical environment.
