Role Description As a Working Student/Intern – V&V Test Automation at Verolt, you will support the verification and validation of embedded and software systems for automotive and related domains. In this on-site role based in Berlin, Germany, you will assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts and test frameworks under the guidance of senior engineers. Your daily tasks will include analyzing requirements, preparing test cases, executing automated and manual tests, documenting test results, and reporting defects in a structured manner. You will collaborate closely with development, QA, and systems teams to improve test coverage, support regression testing, and contribute to continuous integration and continuous testing pipelines. This internship role offers hands-on experience in test automation, exposure to industry-standard tools and practices, and an opportunity to learn in an applied, professional environment.
Tasks
1. Understand the Automotive System
- Work on the design of future vehicle architectures.
- Develop a strong interest and understanding of automobiles and technology trends in the automotive sector.
- Apply knowledge of IT concepts such as software architectures and cloud services.
2. Research and Analysis
- Research the latest methods for test design and test automation.
- Explore AI-driven approaches for testing and automation.
- Use networked and interdisciplinary thinking to analyze system requirements.
3. Test Planning and Design
- Assist in the design of test cases.
- Define test strategies for:
- End-to-End (E2E) Testing
- System Testing
- Infotainment Testing
- HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) Commissioning
4. Automation Development
- Design algorithms for test data generation.
- Develop automation routines.
- Apply object-oriented programming using Python, Java, or C++.
- Leverage AI techniques where applicable.
5. Test Execution
- Execute automated and manual test cases.
- Perform:
- End-to-End Testing
- System Testing
- Infotainment Testing
- HIL Testing/Commissioning
6. Evaluation and Quality Assurance
- Conduct and evaluate tests to ensure functionality and quality.
- Analyze results and identify defects.
- Recommend improvements to vehicle architecture, test coverage, and automation processes.
Supporting Qualifications Throughout the Process
- Current studies in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Programming experience in Python, Java, or C++.
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- German and English proficiency (C1 level).
- Creativity, commitment, goal orientation, and teamwork.
- Systematic and structured working approach.
