Finance Working Student

Our Mission For You

trawa is a Berlin-based energy-tech scale-up on a mission to power German industry with 100 % green, intelligent electricity — combining renewable procurement, AI-driven portfolio optimisation, and flexibility services in one platform. We are in a hyper-growth phase, backed by top-tier investors, and now scaling towards Series B.

Join our Finance team in a high-impact role with real ownership from day one. You'll sit at the heart of our daily Finance operations, contribute to how we scale, and take on meaningful responsibility as we prepare for our next growth phase.

You'll work alongside people who came from top strategy consulting, Big Four, and renowned scale-ups — same standards, but in a fast-moving, hands-on environment where you can actually build.

What You'll Own

  • Accounts Payable & Expense Management — process invoices and employee expenses end-to-end in Moss and DATEV, from receipt to payment prep
  • Month-End Close Support — own defined tasks (reconciliations, accruals prep, documentation) and support clean handovers
  • Automation & Processes — spot repetitive tasks and help automate them using Langdock, Airtable, and Excel
  • Day-to-Day Finance Ops — support the team on ad-hoc requests, data quality, and internal Finance topics

Who You Are

Must-Haves

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's programme in Berlin (Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field) — or in a transition between academic programmes
  • Available 20 hours per week, reliably, for at least 6 months
  • Proven track record with AI and automation workflows — you've built or shipped something using tools like Langdock, Claude, ChatGPT, n8n, or similar
  • Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets — you're comfortable with complex formulas, pivot tables, and structured data work
  • Attention to detail — you deliver clean, thorough work and follow through without being chased
  • Strong analytical skills — you can cut through numbers and surface what actually matters
  • Open-minded team player — you collaborate well, ask good questions, and raise issues early
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice-to-Haves

  • Exposure to DATEV, Moss, Airtable, or comparable Finance/data tools
  • Familiarity with data warehouses or structured data environments
  • First experience in the energy sector or in complex, regulated business models
  • German language skills

Your Path Forward

We hire working students with the intention of building long-term relationships. If you perform strongly and the fit is right, there's a clear perspective to grow with us — either into an extended role with more scope or, after your studies, into a full-time position in our Finance team.

What we offer

  • Real ownership and mentorship from a senior Finance team
  • An AI-first Finance team that embraces new tools and ways of working
  • A steep learning curve in one of Germany's most exciting energy-tech scale-ups
  • Flexible working hours around your studies, hybrid setup, vibrant Berlin office
  • Competitive working student compensation (market-aligned), meal vouchers, and Urban Sports Club membership

Everyone is welcome here. We are committed to building an inclusive workplace that values diversity. We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply.
