Communications And Content Intern

The Empathy Institute is a new initiative focused on cultivating empathy at scale and building systems that help people recognize their shared humanity. We bridge inner work and systems change, valuing both personal transformation and societal impact. We are in the early stages, we operate as a small, collaborative team of researchers, facilitators, and practitioners experimenting with practical approaches. Current work includes methods for dialogue across difference, training programs, research on empathy and connection-oriented technology, and advocacy for systems that reduce polarisation.

Berlin (or remote) · 5–10h/week · 3 months · Unpaid

We're a small, early-stage organisation working at the intersection of empathy, dialogue, and democratic participation. We run dialogue programmes, train facilitators, and produce research and media on empathy and depolarisation. We're looking for someone to help us tell that story.

You'll be working directly with our team on content creation, copywriting, and how we communicate what we do and why it matters. This is a hands-on role, you'll have real creative input, not just scheduling posts.

What you'll be doing:

• Writing and publishing content across LinkedIn and Instagram: posts, captions, short-form copy
• Drafting newsletters, website copy, and other written materials
• Supporting our overall marketing and communications strategy
• Editing podcast episodes (and possibly short video content if that's your thing)
• Helping shape how we talk about empathy, dialogue, and depolarisation to different audiences

You might be a good fit if you:

• Are studying communications, journalism, political science, psychology, or similar, or relevant experience Want to build something, not just assist with it
• Care about human connection, empathy, and what makes dialogue actually work
• Are a strong writer with a feel for authentic, non-corporate communication
• Have some experience with social media content
