The internship assignment:

The Supplier Capex team is responsible for supporting the Direct Supply Chain team on automation initiatives, tooling cost reviews, Capital Equipment procurement and leading Capital Equipment strategy for Direct part suppliers. The Supply Chain intern supports day-to-day operations by working with Supply Chain Managers and Key cross-functional teams like engineering, legal and direct Supply Chain Manager's to meet the KPI's. Supply Chain interns will work hand-in-hand with the Supply Chain Manager to lead commercial negotiations, close out critical blockers for contract completions and identify key suppliers in the Capital Expenditures and Tooling space. They will also work on strategic initiatives like building out should cost templates for automation and standardize templates for cost breakdowns.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Supply Chain manager on key Capital Equipment projects and commercial negotiations.
  • Build out should cost templates and standardize cost breakdown templates.
  • Assist the team with mapping out the global supply base for Tesla Supplier Capex team.
  • Collaborate with Supplier Capex Tooling and Automation teams on commercial initiatives.
  • Work with Supply Chain Manager to create Purchase Requisitions, Statement of Work and other commercial contracts.


  • What You'll Bring

  • Background in supply chain or major in Supply Chain.
  • Very good knowledge of German as well as good knowledge of English, both written and spoken.
  • Prior experience or working level understanding of ERP Systems used in Supply Chain.
  • Good communication skills to drive discussions.
  • Ability to analyze problems and find solutions in a structured manner.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving oriented.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as in an organized and independent manner.
  • Candidates are expected to uphold and actively promote sustainability principles in their daily work, operating in line with Tesla Global Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Policy and EMAS requirements, fostering a culture of continuous environmental improvement.
