Tesla seeks a Sustainability intern – this role is a member of Tesla’s global sustainability team and will play a key role in supporting Tesla’s strategy on sustainability management, battery recycling, compliance, and reporting.

This position will be based in Berlin, Germany. Your direct colleagues will be based in different locations, amongst others Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, London and the US.

What You'll Do

  • Support the coordination of Tesla’s responses to ESG questionnaires from corporate clients, external clients, or rating agencies, working with Tesla’s Sales team, gathering inputs across teams, contributing to the training of client-facing colleagues and assisting in the development of internal guidance materials, templates, and process improvement initiatives to streamline Tesla's approach to ESG data requests.
  • Support in updating ESG requirements on Tesla’s centralized legal tracker, ensuring ESG reporting requirements and corresponding obligations are accurately captured and assessed for existing and future impact on Tesla’s entities
  • Support Tesla’s CSRD and EU taxonomy readiness through gap analysis, internal stakeholder outreach, and data collection across relevant teams.
  • Supporting Tesla’s EMEA Battery Recycling Program, including:
  • Update monthly scoreboards and track service-level performance (e.g. volumes, turnaround times, and open issues)
  • Assist with day-to-day coordination and engagement with EMEA Battery Recycling program stakeholders
  • Support tendering activities
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks
  • Supporting Tesla’s EMEA End-of-Life Vehicles (ELV) and Battery Take-Back Program, including:
  • Engagement with local ELV and recycling partners
  • Assist with day-to-day coordination and data Collection from recycling partners and internal sources


  • What You'll Bring

  • Pursuing degree in public policy, sustainability, environmental management, communications, finance, or business is preferred. 
  • Previous experience or courses related to sustainability, environmental impact and / or battery recycling is preferred, with knowledge regarding corporate sustainability and the regulatory landscape.
  • Some understanding of sustainability issues and related frameworks, particularly relating to environmental and / or climate impact and ESG reporting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills – ability to successfully manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Confidence in responsibly using AI tools and AI agents to support research and task automation.
  • Data management and analytical skills – ability to process and analyze Excel data to support compliance reporting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English with ability to adapt to different formats (dashboards, internal trainings, annual reports, etc.).
  • Ability to work closely and communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to maintain discretion with sensitive and confidential information.

    Wochenstunden

    Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

    Sozialabgaben

    Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

    Internationale Studierende

    Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
