Kartesia is a pan-European, independent and privately-owned specialist provider of financing solutions, focused on offering customised financing across the capital structure to leading mid-market companies from a wide range of industries, with the view to accelerate their pace of growth. Kartesia manages over €7.5bn of assets in 4 investment strategies. As part of our continued growth, we look to further expand our DACH Investment team and welcome an intern to our centrally located Munich office starting in Q4-2026 for a duration of up to 6 months.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assisting and supporting the Investment team in executing new investments across the DACH region:

✓ Reviewing various due diligence materials (strategic, financial, tax & legal, commercial etc.);

✓ Building financial models and valuation analysis;

✓ Preparing investment memoranda for the Investment Committee and presenting new investment opportunities alongside deal team members;

✓ Supporting the coordination with internal and external counterparties; and

✓ Assisting in the closing of deals.

  • Attending business meetings with various stakeholders including Investment Funds, Banks, Corporate Finance Advisors, Management Teams etc.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of Kartesia portfolio companies’ performance (e.g. review of monthly operating results, update of financial models and performance reports, attendance of Supervisory Board etc.).
  • Performing market analysis on new investment opportunities and potential add-ons for portfolio companies.
  • Maintaining the transaction database and document filing systems in compliance with internal document and data retention procedures.
  • Assisting in the preparation of marketing presentations.

The position provides a unique opportunity to work with a small and experienced investment team based in Munich on complex transactions in a fast-paced environment, in which you will gain exposure to the wider European LBO and private capital landscape.

Skills and competences:

  • Master’s degree (in progress or Bachelor’s final-year or degree completed) in finance, economics, econometrics, business, or technical (with affinity for finance) with outstanding academic results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
  • Track record of strong prior internship or professional experience. Experience in Private Debt, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Financing (leveraged/structured), Strategy Consulting, or Transaction Services preferred.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills as well as ability to leverage AI tools (e.g., for research, data analysis, productivity, and automation).
  • Distinct work ethic, team player with can-do attitude, rapid learner, ability to work autonomously, capacity for synthesizing and ability to work under pressure.

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.
