This position offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on Working Student in Robot Software Engineering - Operations (m/f/d) to support the maintenance, deployment, and operation of our robotic systems throughout testing and delivery phases. You will be involved in robot maintenance and calibration, firmware updates, system configuration, and troubleshooting within the robot fleet. Additionally, you will support deployment and provisioning activities, including CI/CD pipelines, quality assurance tests, and collaboration during Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).

YOUR TASKS
- Robot Maintenance & Operations
- Maintain robots and devices at the Darmstadt test site.
- Perform robot calibration and maintenance tasks.
- Execute firmware updates for devices and sensors.
- Debug problems within the robot fleet.
- Configure robot systems and device settings.
- Deployment & Provisioning
- Run CI/CD pipelines for robot provisioning.
- Assist partners in performing remote robot provisioning and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
- Prepare and configure hardware and software for robots.
- Perform end-of-production-line QA tests with autonomous inspection missions.
- DevOps & Tooling
- Improve CI/CD pipelines to achieve high scalability of robot provisioning.
- Develop tools to monitor fleet performance.
- Support software development team operations.
- Collaboration & Delivery
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams for shipping products to customers.
- Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or related).
- Technical Skills
- Linux Systems: Proficiency with command-line tools (SSH, NetworkManager, Netplan, journald, etc.).
- Version Control: Experience with Git.
- Programming: Python and C++ experience.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and debugging capabilities.
- Robotics: ROS (ROS1/ROS2) experience.
- Containerization: Docker.
- CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins and Ansible.
- Hardware
- Experience flashing Nvidia Jetson Xavier computers.
- Experience working with DJI drone hardware.
- Software Development
- Robot software development background.
- Experience working with DJI Developer technologies.
- Relevant work experience in robotics operations, DevOps, or software development.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in similar technical roles.
