Your career at Deutsche Börse Group

Your area of work

As part of the CEO division, you will support up to two teams that act as a competence center for Deutsche Börse Group's central decision-making bodies and work closely with each other:

  • Group M&A is responsible for the identification and implementation of M&A projects
  • DB1 Ventures is responsible for venture investments in start-ups (new investments and portfolio management)

As an intern (f/m/d), you will gain insights into the activities of one or both of teams (also depending on your desired internship duration). You state your preferences in the application process. Depending on your skills profile and requirements, we will then plan your areas of work during the application process. This gives you the opportunity to gain an impression of exciting areas of work in our company, gain valuable cross-departmental experience and combine university theory with practice.

Your responsibilities:

Depending on your area of work, your responsibilities could include the following tasks:

  • You will prepare decision documents for the Executive Board of Deutsche Börse Group
  • You will analyse competitor activities and key market trends
  • You support the financial modelling and valuation of potential deal opportunities using value and multiple-based valuation methods
  • You will participate in ongoing transactions, analyse and evaluate potential investment targets and assist in the preparation of investment proposals/presentations for DBAG's management and support the team in performing specific tasks as part of the due diligence process
  • You will also research and evaluate selected markets in detail and assess them for attractive investment opportunities
  • You will support portfolio management and evaluate and maintain the venture pipeline and deal flow database as well as all operational documentation

Your profile:

  • You are enrolled at a state-recognized university for the entire duration of the internship and have completed at least four semesters. There is also the possibility of an orientation internship, whereby you are currently in a gap year after completing your Bachelor's or Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields of study - no certificate of enrolment is required for this
  • You have very good grades (high school/university), are motivated and are curious about the topics of the three departments
  • Ideally, you have already gained some practical experience in corporate finance / M&A or in the venture/start-up sector
  • You have an interest in and basic knowledge of financial analysis and company valuation
  • Thanks to your communicative nature, you can quickly integrate yourself into the team. Your independent way of working and very good analytical skills help you to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
  • You have very good knowledge of MS Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • In addition, you are fluent in written and spoken English and German (at least B2)
