The clearing house provides fully automated post-trade services for derivatives, equities, bonds and secured funding & financing as well as industry-leading risk management technologies.

Your area of work

As one of the key control functions of Eurex Clearing, the Clearing Delivery & Control section performs monitoring and control of operational business processes, the operating Change- and Quality Management and the centralized master data maintenance for the electronic clearing and trading systems of Eurex Clearing AG, FWB (Frankfurter Wertpapier Börse), Eurex and Eurex Repo as well as the connected trading platforms under consideration of market-related regulations.

As an intern in the Change Management unit, you will play an active role in designing, developing, and enhancing data-driven solutions that support our management and operational teams. You will contribute to specifying software changes, documenting implemented solutions, and supporting the execution of software tests.

You’ll work hands-on with AI and Big Data technologies and collaborate closely with a team of data scientists to develop and maintain complex data solutions. This includes opportunities to apply your skills in Python and SQL in real-world scenarios. During the selection process, you’ll also have the chance to demonstrate your technical capabilities in a practical setting.

In addition, you’ll gain exposure to industry-standard analytics, AI and development platforms, and build foundational knowledge of Clearing and Settlement processes. This internship offers a unique opportunity to deepen your experience in data science while contributing to meaningful, high-impact projects.

Your responsibilites:


  • Working with Big Data solutions: Build and orchestrate AI agents and internal tools using Python/SQL to automate workflows and enable scalable processing of large datasets
  • Building interactive dashboards: Design and implement innovative solutions for digitization and simplification of processes, including the creation of dynamic data visualization tools. Leverage Python and SQL to extract, transform, and present data in user-friendly formats
  • Collaborating with a team of data scientists: Actively participate in a project-oriented environment to develop complex AI and data solutions
  • Softwarte testing and documentation: Participate in software testing processes, including the thorough documentation of testing outcomes
  • Daily business activities: Provide support with daily business activities by maintaining change documentation, checklists, and internal guidelines, while gaining hands-on experience in release management processes


Your profile:


  • You are enrolled during the entire period of activity at a state-recognized university as a regular student and have completed at least two semesters (Study focus in Data Science, Business Information or Informatics or a related field). Furthermore, we offer the possibility of an orientation internship, whereby you are currently in a gap-year after your bachelor's or master's degree in the above-mentioned fields of study - in this case, a certificate of enrolment is not required
  • You have strong interest in digital innovations, capital markets, and stock markets
  • In addition, you bring excellent proficiency in Python and SQL - These skills will be applied in practical scenarios during the selection process. Experience with VBA is a plus
  • Furthermore, you have very good English language skills, both written and spoken. German is a plus

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
