Join the Appearance Core team within the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform R&D organization at Dassault Systèmes and become part of an innovative group focused on enabling next-generation interactive 3D experiences through generative AI! Our team develops core technologies that power intelligent, data-driven visual content across the platform.

In this role, you will help identify, evaluate, and integrate state-of-the-art generative AI models for material and texture synthesis by analyzing open-source solutions, designing evaluation methods, and supporting the development of future AI-driven graphics capabilities.

Role Description & Responsibilities

  • You will conduct structured surveys of open-source generative AI models, focusing on their ability to generate material textures from textual prompts
  • You will design and implement systematic testing protocols to evaluate model performance based on defined quality criteria
  • You will document and compare experimental results, providing clear insights and recommendations for model selection
  • You will propose integration strategies for promising solutions within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform ecosystem
  • You will support exploratory AI research activities, such as curating datasets and training custom models for specialized material-generation tasks
  • You will collaborate with researchers and engineers to bridge rapid prototyping efforts with long-term innovation initiatives

Qualifications

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
  • You have a strong interest in artificial intelligence and are motivated to apply academic knowledge in a research-oriented environment
  • You have programming experience in Python and are familiar with at least one major AI framework (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and Hugging Face
  • You understand basic concepts in machine learning, computer vision, or computer graphics
  • You are interested in reproducible experimentation and structured evaluation of AI models
  • You are familiar with the usage of textures in computer graphics (UV mapping, procedural texturing, sampling and filtering, mipmapping ….)
  • You have strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to summarize technical findings clearly
  • You are proactive, curious, and enjoy exploring new technologies in a collaborative team setting

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
