The Video Computer Vision (VCV) team is dedicated to fundamental and applied research in computer vision and machine learning. Our team delivered the gaze tracking system fundamental to the Apple Vision Pro and is continuously developing solutions for Apple’s next-generation products. We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineering Intern who is passionate about building robust ML infrastructure, building data analysis pipelines, and shaping the future of AI-assisted engineering at Apple.

Description
This position requires a highly motivated individuals who wants to push what can be done for machine learning model development, analysis, and deployment using AI workflows. Your goal will be to be a force multiplier for the team. You will be responsible for building debugging tools, accelerating machine learning training loops, and pushing forward what is possible with AI workflows.

Potential Internship Areas Include
Designing and implementing AI-driven workflows and agentic systems to automate and improve internal engineering processes.

Building AI centered debugging and visualization workflows.

Building scalable, high-quality software architecture to support deep learning research and hardware integration.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a bachelors, masters, or PhD degree in Computer Science, machine learning, or a related field.
  • At the end of the internship, you must return to school to continue your education, or the internship must be the last requirement for you to graduate.
  • Very strong software engineering skills with fluency in Python
  • Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, with hands-on familiarity in PyTorch and writing ML training loops.
  • Practical experience utilizing AI coding assistants and agentic workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Contributions to open source projects
  • Familiarity with distributed training, GPU optimization, and ML infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD and testing frameworks.
  • Previous industry experience in software engineering, MLOps, or AI tooling is a strong plus.
  • Experience with C++/Obj-C

Wochenstunden

Praktika haben keine 20-Stunden-Grenze, ein freiwilliges Praktikum über drei Monate muss aber in der Regel mindestens den Mindestlohn zahlen. Pflichtpraktika im Studium sind davon ausgenommen.

Sozialabgaben

Pflichtpraktika sind weitgehend von Sozialabgaben befreit. Freiwillige Praktika gelten ab einer gewissen Dauer als reguläre Beschäftigung, dann fallen meist Beiträge an.
