About Us

Hitachi Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Hitachi, investing in early and growth-stage startups that are shaping the future of technology and industry. We work closely with founders across a wide range of sectors, from deep tech to digital innovation, helping them scale while connecting them to Hitachi's global network.

About the Role

We're looking for a motivated Social Media & Marketing Intern to help us build and strengthen our presence across digital channels. You'll work closely with our team on content creation, community engagement, and marketing initiatives that support our brand and portfolio companies.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in venture capital marketing, with the potential to convert into a working student position after the summer.

What You'll Do

  • Create and schedule engaging content for our social media channels
  • Help draft newsletters, blog posts, and other written content
  • Monitor social media performance and prepare basic reporting
  • Assist with event promotion and post-event content (e.g. conferences, demo days)
  • Support internal communications and brand consistency across materials
  • Research industry trends and competitor activity to inform content strategy
  • Set up and maintain marketing automations (e.g. scheduling tools, workflow integrations) to streamline content and campaign processes

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program, ideally in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (German is a plus)
  • Genuine interest in venture capital, startups, and technology
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content formats
  • Solid design skills (e.g. Canva, Figma, or similar tools) for creating social media & marketing assets
  • A proactive, organized, and creative mindset
  • Available full-time from August 1, 2026, for a minimum of 2 months

What We Offer

  • Direct exposure to the venture capital and startup ecosystem
  • Ownership over real projects from day one
  • A collaborative, international team environment
  • Potential to convert into a working student position after the summer
  • Flexible, hands-on learning experience with room to bring your own ideas

Working student essentials

What this Marketing internship in Munich means for you: the pay rules, the social contributions, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.

International students

Non-EU students can work 140 full or 280 half days per year (raised from 120/240 in March 2024). A working student contract usually fits within this — confirm the exact limits printed on your residence permit.
