YOUR TEAM
You will be part of the T4-VEMB Team. At VEMB we aim to be the benchmark in software development for energy, motion & body systems! We are organized in Competence Centers and work on our projects within an agile structure according to the SAFe framework. We are a team of dedicated and collaborative software specialists, claim a high degree of accountability and ownership and consistently work with modern and efficiency-oriented software development methods.
In the Climate Controller team at CARIAD, we deliver customer-oriented software to the Volkswagen brands. We design software products across the entire life cycle - from the very first contact to a life-long relationship. We develop series software to improve the wellbeing of drivers and occupants by controlling the air volume and temperature in the car according to environmental influences and customer input.
As a working student you will be an integral part of our Climate Controller team, that works on volume flow-controlled climate systems. You will support research and efforts to update and automate existing measurement setups, also you will conduct and evaluate measurements on vehicles.
What You Will Do
- Work closely with a team of software developers to understand and optimize existing measurement setups
- Conduct Measurements, process raw measurement data and visualize the results comprehensibly to integrate the research findings into our products
- Support the team with the development of measurement equipment prototypes (drafting and realization)
- You have a broad and interesting range of tasks and thus gain insight into series software development, with a connection to the vehicle and the workshop
- Enrolled student in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, measurement technology, fluid mechanics or similar
- Ideally first experiences in automated processing of measurement results (e.g. VBA, MATLAB or Python scripting)
- Ideally first experiences with visual programming (MATLAB Simulink), CANape, CAD drafting
- Basic knowledge of fluid dynamics is a plus
- High analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset
- Independent way of working, self-organized and talented in craftsmanship
- German and English skills at B2 level (spoken and written)
- Remote work options within Germany
- Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend up to two years)
- 16-20 hours/week, up to 35 hours/week during the semester break
- Salary: 17,80€/hour

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
