Our Team

Since the 2026 season, Audi has been competing in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship.

The new team has three locations. The Motorsport Competence Center of Audi in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Formula 1 factory of Audi Motorsport AG in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Audi Motorsport Technology Center in UK is in its launch phase and growing continuously. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations.

Our internships as well as thesis projects last at least four months, are full-time, and we offer fair compensation.

This position is scheduled to start from September 2026. This position is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).

Within the Quality Management department, we are responsible for the realisation of all qualitative component requirements for the entire F1 Power Unit. This area of responsibility covers the entire life cycle of manufactured components, from the development and testing phase to the analysis after the end of the service life period, or in the event of damage.

Your Mission

As an intern in the field of fluids analysis, you will be directly involved in the current development and quality assurance work related to the power unit.

Your primary responsibilities will include supporting the fluid team in:

  • Physical and chemical analyses of operating fluids, with a focus on ICP-OES, GC-FID, GC-MS, FT-IR…
  • Assistance with the calibration of analytical instruments
  • Management and expansion of AFR’s internal fluid database

In addition, you will support our quality team in the preparation, implementation, evaluation and documentation of further Q component tests and analyses.

Your Profile

  • You have successfully completed the foundation stage of your studies in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a comparable field of study
  • You are familiar with the fundamentals of quality and process management
  • You have already gained initial experience with engine and hybrid systems
  • A passion for Formula 1 or motorsport is clearly evident in you
  • You are proficient in using MS Office applications
  • You have already gained initial experience in VBA macro programming
  • You are characterized by a goal-oriented, independent and structured way of working
  • Strong execution skills as well as a high level of motivation and initiative are among your strengths
  • You have strong teamworking skills
  • Full professional proficiency in German or English rounds off your profile
