Are you a proactive Master’s student who combines strategic thinking, research capabilities, technology scouting and strong communication? Support us in open innovation, communication and branding.

What makes the job interesting: You will support strategic innovation activities across the company, helping us identify emerging technologies, strengthen open innovation partnerships, benchmark leading innovators, and communicate innovation initiatives both internally and externally.

The role combines innovation strategy, technology scouting, open innovation and communication activities, providing broad exposure to innovation management in the energy transition.

Your Tasks

  • Innovation Strategy & Open Innovation Support (50%)
  • Benchmark innovation leaders across industries, including peer TSOs, infrastructure companies, technology leaders and other innovative organizations. Analyze innovation strategies, governance models, operating models and innovation
  • practices, Support the development of Elia Group's Open Innovation & Enablement Strategy.
  • Communication Strategy Execution (25%)
  • Create content for internal and external channels, including articles, presentations, websites, newsletters and social media,
  • Coordinate communication activities with Corporate Communications and external agencies,
  • Support the preparation and execution of key innovation events, including Innovation Week, Innovation Fair and ecosystem events,
  • Contribute to idea management system adoption through user analysis, reporting, content creation and promotional activities,
  • Monitor communication performance and develop KPI reports and dashboards.
  • Technology Scouting & Tech Radar (25%)

Demonstrate strong interest in technologies, and support the next Tech Radar cycle by:

  • Identifying emerging technologies relevant to TSOs, building and maintaining a long list of technology opportunities, gathering evidence from industry, academia, startups and market developments.,
  • Assessing technology maturity and strategic relevance, conducting interviews with internal subject matter experts,
  • Developing recommendations on technologies to add, monitor or remove from the Tech Radar. Supporting the preparation of radar reports, presentations and communication materials.

We imagine that you…

  • Are currently enrolled in a Master's program at a German university, with studies continuing until at least September 2027, preferably in Management/Innovation Management, Strategic Communications, or a related discipline,
  • Could start in September / October 2026,
  • Are able to take ownership from the first day on,
  • Have excellent research and scouting capabilities,
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to transform complex and abstract information into actionable insights
  • Can coordinate multiple activities and internal & external stakeholders independently (lead calls, workshops, presentations etc.),
  • Are able to work with Microsoft 365 and AI tools like Copilot,
  • Use Mobile Working as a flexible complement to your work and are also regularly present in the office to collaborate with your team,
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skill in English (C1)
