You accompany us, supporting biostatisticians by applying methods of machine learning and artificial intelligence in real-life applications. This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach.

You will gain an insight into the following topics and tasks

• The internship will focus on applying methods to automate processing of study reports to transfer the relevant contents in a machine-readable format
• Within your internship you will have the opportunity to support the work on novel methods for clinical and non-clinical trial designs and analyses. Tasks can include:
• Literature review to understand the current state of statistical methods
• Simulating data sets to evaluate the performance of new methods
• Applying new methods to real data sets and interpreting the results
• Developing Python code, packages and/or apps to support the use and uptake of methods
  
  
  

Your Profile

• Student in at least the 4th semester of a study program related to artificial intelligence and/or machine learning
• Very good knowledge of methods of natural language processing and of software Python
• Experience with large language models is an added advantage
• Experience with agentic AI systems
• Excellent analytical skills and solution-oriented working style as well as high willingness to learn
• Reliability, intrinsic motivation, commitment, and a strong team player
• Excellent command of English language in written and spoken form
  
  
  

What we can offer you

• As a student intern, you can expect a fair expense allowance (payment of the currently valid minimum wage)
• You will be given 2.5 days of paid time off for every full month of the internship
• A full-time internship is 37.5 hours a week (a smaller number of hours can be arranged)
