Internship within VSM Industrial Evolution (d/f/m)

Are you looking for an internship and want to get to know the work of a Data Scientist (d/f/m)? Then apply now! We look forward to you supporting us in the A320 Family VSM (Value Stream Management) Industrial Evolution as an intern (d/f/m)!

  • Location: Hamburg
  • Start: August 2026
  • Duration: 3-6 months

JOIN THE TEAM THAT’S SHAPING THE FUTURE OF AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION!

Are you ready to take your next big step and dive into the world of industrial evolution? Look no further, because we’ve got the perfect opportunity for an intern at Airbus for an exclusive project!

We are a global team at the heart of the A320 Family production, and we’re on a mission to revolutionize how things are done. Specifically, we focus on the critical phase of fuselage assembly. You'll be helping us map out the future of aircraft production by integrating state-of-the-art measurement systems across our Final Assembly Lines (FALs). If you're a go-getter with a passion for precision, problem-solving, and working with a highly motivated team, you’re in the right place!

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Experience the special flair of Hamburg in your spare time where vibrant cosmopolitan culture meets nautic legacy.

Finkenwerder

Are you wondering how you actually get from university to Airbus? Your working student position is at the Finkenwerder plant and you can take the ferry from Teufelsbrück to the Airbus ferry terminal and back to the university in the morning and at noon. Alternatively, you can take the ferry to Finkenwerder and then ride your bike for about another 15 minutes to the main entrance.

Your Benefits

  • Work-life balance with a 35-hour week (flexitime) and EUR 750 gross/monthly salary.
  • A final thesis is possible after consultation with the department.
  • International environment with the opportunity to network globally.
  • Work with modern/diversified technologies.
  • At Airbus, we see you as a valuable team member and you are not hired to brew coffee, instead you are in close contact with the interfaces and are part of our weekly team meetings.
  • Opportunity to participate in the Generation Airbus Community to expand your own network.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Get precise! You will dive deep into the world of measurement systems within our fuselage assembly, supporting the setup, testing, and evaluation of high-precision metrology tools.
  • Crunch some numbers! You’ll collect, structure, analyze, and visualize measurement data that drives real change in how we align and join aircraft sections.
  • Become a precision ninja! Help us optimize measurement concepts, evaluate tolerances, and ensure all fuselage components fit together like clockwork.
  • Unleash your creativity! We want your input on automating data analysis and simplifying our measurement processes, so the fun stuff gets more focus.
  • Show your skills! Present your findings in our weekly team meetings-you’ll be a key part of the conversation, not a coffee runner.

Desired Skills And Qualifications

  • You’re enrolled as a full-time student (d/f/m) in something awesome like Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metrology (Messtechnik), Industrial Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Got some skills? If you’ve dabbled in 3D measurement technologies, laser tracking, CAD, or data analytics, that’s a massive plus!
  • Languages! Fluent in English and German? Perfect! French? Even better!
  • A proactive attitude and a talent for making sense of chaos-able to structure your work, handle highly precise data, and communicate results effectively.

Please upload the following documents: cover letter, CV, relevant transcripts, enrollment certificate.

Not a 100% match? No worries! Airbus supports your personal growth.
