The Impact You'll Make

Join our Virtual Systems Simulation team in Danfoss Climate Solutions and help shape the future of sustainable heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems. You will work directly with experienced engineers to model and analyze thermal systems that make buildings and industrial processes more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. This role offers a chance to contribute to real customer projects and internal R&D while building expertise in cutting-edge simulation tools used to decarbonize industry.

As a valued member of our engineering team, your work will accelerate project delivery and contribute to our internal simulation libraries. You will gain hands-on experience with industrial-grade modeling libraries and simulation workflows while helping Danfoss develop the next generation of climate solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Develop and maintain component models for Danfoss products using our internal Modelica modeling library, ensuring accuracy and usability for engineering teams
  • Build custom system simulation models tailored to specific customer projects in heating, cooling, and refrigeration applications
  • Analyze and post-process simulation results using MATLAB and/or Python to extract insights that drive design decisions
  • Collaborate closely with senior engineers on both customer-facing deliverables and internal R&D initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement of our simulation tools and processes, contributing ideas and solutions that enhance team efficiency

What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Technology, Mechatronics, or a related engineering program
  • Foundational knowledge of thermodynamics and thermal energy systems (heating and cooling applications)
  • Basic experience with at least one of the following: Modelica/Dymola, Julia, or MATLAB
  • Fluent in English (our team's working language)
  • Available to work 20 hours per week, including 2 days on-site at our Hamburg office
  • Reliable, curious, and collaborative — you enjoy problem-solving and learning from experienced engineers

What You'll Get From Us
  • We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  • You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  • We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  • You’ll receive benefits like 13th salary, annual bonus, paid vacation, pension plans, personal insurance, and more. These vary by country and contract, but they’re worth asking about—we think they’re pretty great.
