Intern – Financial Oversight (6 months, with possible extension)

Location: Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier

At Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), we create and operate flagship destinations that redefine the retail and leisure experience across Europe. One of our key developments, Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, is a landmark mixed-use project shaping the future of urban living in Hamburg.

We are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Intern to join our Financial Oversight Department and support the team on a wide range of operational and financial coordination tasks.

Your responsibilities will include:

Stakeholder & Meeting Coordination

• Organizing and coordinating bi-weekly commercial meetings
• Preparing agendas, collecting discussion points, and sharing materials
• Taking detailed notes and preparing minutes of meetings
• Following up on outstanding topics with relevant stakeholders

Financial Tracking & Budget Oversight

• Supporting the preparation and maintenance of legal budget tracking
• Assisting with budget validation and ensuring alignment with approvals

Approval & Payment Processes

• Supporting Level 1 approval checks for legal orders, change orders, and invoices
• Assisting in the preparation of weekly payment lists and ensuring internal alignment
• Coordinating with internal teams to validate payment readiness and resolve discrepancies

Invoice & Contract Monitoring

• Reviewing invoices and NTAs (Not-To-Exceed Agreements), following up on open items
• Tracking contingency spend and monitoring budget consumption

Ad-hoc Financial & Operational Support

• Responding to internal queries regarding payments and budgets
• Supporting calculations and financial analysis for the development team
• Assisting with service charge-related topics and basic cost breakdowns

What we are looking for:

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Structured, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Good Excel skills (comfortable working with data and tracking budgets)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
• Fluency in English (German is a plus)
