Tesla is looking for a talented and motivated Data Engineering Working Student to join our Data Engineering and Analytics team at Giga Berlin. We are building a state-of-the-art analytics platform for business and operational intelligence. At Tesla, we have enormous amounts of data, and we want to give meaning to it, to help business users make data driven decisions. Our platform allows users to answer "what", "when" and "how" questions and ask, "what if".

In this role you will assist in designing, developing, maintaining and supporting our Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI platform. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact to the entire organization by championing data driven culture.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and stakeholders to analyse functional and non-functional business requirements
  • Closely collaborate with engineers and product managers to design and implement data pipelines and features to data & AI products.
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources, maintain databases and data systems
  • Filter and cleanse data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to locate and correct data problems
  • Develop, improve, and maintain core functionalities
  • Influence architectural decisions with focus on security, scalability, and high performance
  • Improve standards and practices to assure highest data quality


  • What You'll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a BSc. or MSc. in Data Science, Computer Science or related field
  • Understanding and experience of data engineering fundamentals, including databases, data processing, data pipeline architecture, and data quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts
  • Proficiency in Python programming language
  • Experience working with Apache Airflow, Flask, Next.js is a good to have
  • Knowledge of market standard CI/CD tools and practices
  • Genuine curiosity and willingness to understand how our products are designed, built and how they operate
