About SmartPlans

SmartPlans is a consulting practice working at the intersection of finance, cloud technology, and AI automation.

We help technology companies cut costs, optimize performance, and scale smarter through fractional finance leadership, FinOps, and intelligent automation.

We are looking for a marketing intern to help grow our content, online presence, and pipeline. You will work directly with the founder, own projects end to end and build a portfolio of published work in a fast-moving industry.

What You'll Do

Content & Editorial

•     Write articles and case studies based on client engagements.

•     Write and publish articles about FinOps, cloud cost management, and the tools shaping the industry.

•     Draft and schedule LinkedIn posts to grow the company’s online presence.

•     Repurpose articles into carousels or infographics for LinkedIn.

•     Maintain and update the company website with fresh content.

•     Monitor and engage with comments and replies on LinkedIn posts.

Case Studies

•     Create anonymized case studies by industry vertical that showcase consulting impact.

SEO & Website

•     Conduct basic keyword research and on-page SEO tagging (meta titles, descriptions).

•     Audit existing content for gaps or outdated information.

Lead Generation Support

•     Build a list of target contacts for outreach.

•     Track and organize inbound leads and opportunities.

Marketing Operations

•     Maintain the content calendar.

•     Compile a monthly report on content performance.

•     Research events and communities worth appearing in.

What We're Looking For

•     Strong, clear writing in English; able to turn technical topics into readable content.

•     Curiosity about finance, cloud, and AI; you don't need to be an expert, but you want to learn.

•     Comfortable with LinkedIn and basic content tools (Canva or similar a plus).

•     Organized and self-directed; you can own a content calendar and hit deadlines.

•     Familiarity with SEO basics is a plus, not a requirement.

What You'll Get

•     Direct mentorship and exposure to real client work.

•     A published portfolio of articles, case studies, and social content.

•     Hands-on experience in a growing niche where finance meets AI and cloud.

•     Berlin-based team with flexible, remote working arrangement.

Working student essentials

What this Marketing internship in Berlin means for you — pay rules, social contributions, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.

International students

Non-EU students can work 140 full or 280 half days per year (raised from 120/240 in March 2024). A working student contract usually fits within this — confirm the exact limits printed on your residence permit.
