We're hiring a Werkstudent — Software Development and Client Solutions


Smart Energy Pay is looking for a tech-savvy Werkstudent to join our support team in Berlin.


We run a live fintech platform built on Smart Energy Chain (SEC) — an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain. Our users deal with crypto wallets, Visa card management, virtual accounts, and real-money transactions. When something goes wrong, they need fast, accurate help — and that's where you come in.


You'll work directly alongside our engineering team, sitting at the intersection of customer experience and technical problem-solving.


💼 Werkstudent — Customer IT Support

Smart Energy Pay | Berlin, Germany (Hybrid)

15–20 hours/week


What you'll work on:

→ Handle incoming customer support tickets — triage, investigate, and resolve

→ Reproduce and document technical issues before escalating to the dev team

→ Communicate clearly with users about issues, status updates, and resolutions

→ Monitor platform health and flag anomalies to the engineering team

→ Write and maintain internal knowledge base articles and support FAQs

→ Help test new features before release from a user perspective

→ Track recurring issues and surface patterns to improve the product


What we're looking for:

→ Currently enrolled at a German university (Werkstudent status required)

→ Strong technical understanding — you can read logs, understand APIs, and think in systems

→ Clear written communication in English and German

→ Comfortable using ticketing systems (Jira, Freshdesk, or similar)

→ Detail-oriented — you document what you find, not just what you fixed

→ Comfortable working with a fast-moving engineering team

→ Basic understanding of how web/mobile apps work (HTTP, APIs, databases)


Nice to have:

→ Interest in blockchain, crypto, or fintech

→ Basic SQL or scripting skills to query data independently

→ Prior customer support or helpdesk experience

→ Familiarity with crypto wallets or payment apps as a user
