Private Equity Intern

Overview

This Private Equity Internship opportunity with a global finance firm offers comprehensive exposure to the investment process within their Frankfurt office. As part of a small, collaborative team, interns will engage directly in sourcing, evaluating, and executing private equity transactions while working alongside portfolio companies and operating partners.

The program provides hands-on experience across all aspects of private equity investing, from initial deal sourcing through value creation implementation. Interns will benefit from dedicated training and mentorship while developing relationships across business units and with external market participants including bankers and advisors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct commercial, operational, and strategic analyses to support investment decision-making
• Perform financial analysis and modeling to assess company valuations
• Assist with transaction execution processes
• Drive thematic and industry research initiatives
• Draft decision papers for internal investment discussions
• Collaborate with portfolio companies and operating partners on value creation opportunities
• Present investment opportunities to the broader investment team
• Support due diligence processes for potential investments
  
  

Skills & Experience

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or masters student
• Fluent in German language
• Strong academic and extra-curricular achievements
• Natural curiosity and eagerness to learn
• Genuine interest in businesses and investing
• Commitment to teamwork and strong cultural fit
• Prior relevant internship experience preferred
• Available for minimum 3-month internship commitment
• Available to work on-site in Frankfurt for majority of the week
