Description provided by Segenia Capital

Segenia Capital is offering a 6-month internship with a potential Associate Track for a Master's student or recent graduate. You will work directly with our GPs and their team across portfolio management, fundraising, and new fund setup — including a Defence Tech & Resilience Venture Studio Fund together with a Big 4 partner. The position is fully remote. Outstanding candidates will be explicitly considered for a permanent Associate role upon completion.

ABOUT SEGENIA CAPITAL

Segenia Capital is a Venture Capital firm headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. We provide family offices, corporates and institutional investors with access to the asset class Venture Capital. We invest directly in technology companies but also provide investors with access to top-performing Venture Capital funds – including leading managers in the Silicon Valley ecosystem, where we maintain deep, long-standing personal networks. Our ecosystem strategies evolve around our core geographies: DACH, the UAE and Silicon Valley. Our most recent initiative is a Defence Tech & Resilience Venture Studio Fund together with a Big 4 partner.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Portfolio Management: support across our direct and Fund of Funds investments, including deal sourcing, investment execution, portfolio growth and strategy support, investor relations, and exit preparation.

Fundraising & Structuring: support in raising new funds – marketing material, legal documentation and investor onboarding.

Research & Analysis: market and competitive analyses in support of fund strategy and deal screening.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated in a Master's program, based in Germany
  • Focus in Finance, Business Administration or Economics; genuine interest in Venture Capital and the global startup ecosystem, particularly in DACH, Silicon Valley and UAE
  • Very strong analytical skills; proficient in Excel, financial modelling and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and German
  • Prior experience in Venture Capital, Private Equity, Investment Banking, strategy consulting, or a high-growth startup is an advantage
  • Professional, entrepreneurial, and self-directed – you take ownership and deliver
  • Discreet and reliable – you understand what confidentiality means in an investment context

Be professional, be exceptional, be different, be humble, pursue great goals with hard work.

Working student essentials

What this Finance internship in Frankfurt means for you: the pay rules, the social contributions, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.

Check your insurance

International students

Non-EU students can work 140 full or 280 half days per year (raised from 120/240 in March 2024). A working student contract usually fits within this — confirm the exact limits printed on your residence permit.
