Description provided by Quantum Systems GmbH
About the role:
As a Working Student in Automated Testing, you will help develop a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test
environment for our Droneport at Quantum-Systems. You will combine Python development with hands-on work
on a real Droneport, drone hardware and a dedicated test rig.
Over approximately one year, you will take ownership of a project from test-rig design and setup to repeatable
automated tests. Working closely with the Droneport development team, you will help identify faults earlier and
improve system reliability. The project offers room to explore solutions, make technical proposals and work
independently with support from the team.
What is your Day to Day Mission:
- Design and build a HIL test setup with a real Droneport inside a protective cage, using a rail-guided or
suspended drone to reproduce controlled movement.
- Connect and control hardware, sensors and interfaces using Python.
- Develop automated test cases for stationary and moving-drone scenarios, including repeatable test sequences
and clear pass/fail criteria.
- Capture logs and measurements, investigate failures and document test results.
- Explore extensions such as controlled wind or rain simulation where feasible.
- Help integrate automated tests into the development workflow and CI/CD where practical.
