Beschreibung bereitgestellt von Moss

At Moss, we give finance professionals the power to automate their day-to-day and make forward-thinking decisions.

Our team and culture make us unique — we’re driven by impact and growth, where every one of us strives to learn and excel. Recognised by Sifted’s Rising 100 and LinkedIn's Top Startups, we’re here to help propel your career and together, make Moss a lasting success.

Join our team at Moss as an AFC & Card Fraud Intern (f/m/d)

As a BaFin-regulated e-money institution, Compliance is core to how Moss operates, not a side function. In this role, you will support our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) team across name screening, transaction monitoring, card fraud management and KYC/KYB, while also helping us automate these processes, incl. the use of AI tools. You will be at the center of modern Compliance teams’ work: understanding and ensuring the regulatory substance and facilitating improved and more automated processes by state-of-the art technology.

Your Responsibilities

No day is the same at Moss, but here’s an overview of your core responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day AFC operations: You support transaction monitoring and spot checks, and contribute to chargeback and Mastercom case handling.
  • AI-powered automation: You help build and improve AI powered processes and prompts for recurring compliance tasks, develop workflows for reporting and alerting, and connect external APIs. You also work on iterating existing tools, for example our KYC 4-Eyes Check.
  • Cross-team collaboration: You work closely with KYC Ops, the Risk team and, where relevant, external partners such as Marqeta and Mastercard to make sure automation actually solves real operational problems.

About You

We think you’ll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • You are studying Business, Law, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field; we care more about analytical rigor and curiosity than a specific degree.
  • You are fluent in English; German is a plus but not required.
  • First hands-on experience with AI tools is a strong plus.
  • You have a genuine interest in both regulatory/AFC topics and automation or coding; this role sits deliberately at the intersection of the two, not just one side of it.

In addition, here are the skills and attributes we are looking for:

  • Ownership: You take tasks from unclear to done, whether that's a case review or a half-finished automation, without needing every step handed to you.
  • AI fluency and curiosity: You want to understand what is actually happening behind a prompt or workflow, not just use it.
  • Structured and analytical: You keep track of detail across cases, data and rules, and nothing slips through the cracks.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: You are working at the intersection of regulation and engineering, often without a ready-made playbook, and you find that interesting rather than stressful.

Given the sensitivity of the data you will work with (customer and payment data), discretion and a careful handling of confidential information are expected throughout.

Location and setup

  • Based in Berlin, hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days from home.
  • Start: as soon as possible.
  • Duration: 6 months.
