About Us

Merckens development support gmbh (mds) is a specialized consulting company based in Ulm Germany, working

internationally in the field of biodynamic agriculture and Demeter certification. We support farms, producer

organisations, exporters and partner organisations in the transition towards biodynamic farming systems, with a strong focus on soil fertility, composting, biodiversity and capacity building.

Mds is led by Klaus Merckens, an accredited AWS specialist and recognized Demeter advisor, and operates projects in Southern Mediterranean countries, Spain, Sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America (including Colombia). Our work combines technical consulting, training, and strategic project development in close cooperation with local partners.

To support our growing portfolio of international projects, we are looking for a motivated intern or junior professional to join our team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the development and updating of training materials for farmers, advisors and farm

technicians

  • Supporting the preparation and implementation of training sessions and capacity-building activities (online

and on site)

  • Assisting partner organisations in the development of sustainable farm and water management concepts
  • Supporting project documentation, reporting and follow-up activities
  • Managing and editing digital content, including website updates, social media channels and e-learning

platforms

Depending on your profile and interests, responsibilities may gradually increase.

Your Profile

  • Vocational training or academic background in agronomy, rural development, environmental sciences, or a

related field

  • Very good command of English and Spanish (written and spoken); French is an asset
  • Interest in sustainable, organic and biodynamic agriculture
  • Willingness to travel internationally for short-term project missions
  • Ability to work independently, with a high level of personal initiative and reliability
  • Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and confidence in using digital communication tools
  • Practical experience in organic or biodynamic farming is an advantage

Location & Conditions:

  • Based in Ulm, Germany, with flexibility for remote work and travel to project locations
  • Paid internship or junior position
  • Remuneration to be agreed upon, depending on profile and experience
  • Start date: as soon as possible
