Public Relations Communications Intern

Company Description Kafka Kommunikation GmbH & Co KG is an owner-managed, DACH active communications agency based in Grünwald near Munich, Germany. Since 1999, the agency has developed tailored PR concepts and communication strategies for B2B and B2C clients in sectors such as IT, Tech, Cybersecurity, Food and Lifestyle. The team of experienced communications professionals works as an extension of clients’ PR and press departments, handling media relations and content for digital, online, and print channels. With strong, long-standing relationships with media and multipliers, Kafka Kommunikation coordinates communication measures across channels, including trade fairs and special events. The agency also collaborates with a global network of partner agencies to support both national and international clients.

Role Description As a Public Relations Communications Intern at Kafka Kommunikation, you will support the team in day-to-day PR and communications activities for national and international clients. In this full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Munich Metropolitan Area, you will draft and edit press releases, media alerts, and short copy for online and print channels, with flexibility to work from home. You will assist with media research, monitoring, and clipping, maintain media lists, and help coordinate journalist outreach and interview requests. You will contribute to the preparation of PR concepts, presentations, and event-related communication for trade fairs and special occasions. You will also support content creation for digital channels, help organize press materials, and collaborate closely with account managers to ensure smooth project execution and consistent client communication.

Qualifications

• Interest in Public Relations and Strategic Communications, with a special interest in agency work and integrated communication campaigns.
• Skills in Press Releases and Media Relations, including the ability to draft press materials and support proactive outreach to journalists and media outlets.
• Excellent written and verbal Communication skills, with attention to detail, structure, and tone across different formats and channels.
• Current studies in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Media Studies or a related field.
• Confident use of common office and online tools (e.g., MS Office, web research); experience with media databases or monitoring tools is a plus.
• Organized, reliable, and proactive working style, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Very good German and English language skills suitable for professional written and spoken communication; additional languages are an advantage.
• Interest in topics such as IT, IT security and AI and motivation to learn quickly and contribute ideas to the team.
