If you are passionate about sustainability and would like to join our highly motivated and diverse teams to make a difference, we are looking forward to welcoming you as Working Student for the Marketing & Communications Team at the ISCC head office in Cologne.
The objective of this role is to support the effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of WordPress websites, ensuring high quality, consistency, and performance. It also aims to assist in implementing new features, coordinating with stakeholders, and contributing to smooth website-related processes through testing, documentation, and research.
You Will Be Responsible For The Following Activities
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of WordPress websites, including content updates, plugin management, and basic troubleshooting
- Assist in implementing new features into responsive WordPress pages
- Ensure website quality through structured testing (QA), bug reporting, and checks for performance, responsiveness, and basic SEO best practices
- Maintain content consistency by following templates, guidelines, and established page structures
- Support ongoing website projects and help coordinate tasks with internal teams and external partners (e.g. agencies, developers)
- Assist in testing website integrations (e.g. forms, login systems, tracking)
- Create and maintain clear documentation of website processes, features, and technical setups
- Conduct basic research on tools, plugins, or UX improvements
- Support sister companies with minor website updates (if required)
- Enrolled student at a German university with an availability of 16-20 hours per week for at least one year (preferably longer), in web development, media informatics, computer science, or a comparable major
- Excellent language skills in English (at least C1), basic German skills (at least A2)
- Knowledge and interest in sustainability-related topics and relevant legislation
- Preferred: prior practical experience with WordPress or frontend development, specifically IT proficiency in HTML and CSS, JavaScript, and an understanding of SEO, web performance, and browser debugging
- Excellent communication skills, and a high degree of approachability, reliability, and initiative
- Very good organizational and research skills, as well as attention to detail
