Intern/Master Thesis Student - System/OS Security (m/f/d)

Your mission

We're looking for curious and driven individuals to join our research team. This is a fantastic opportunity to dive deep into the world of system security, alongside experienced mentors and fellow researchers. You'll get hands-on experience and contribute to real-world security solutions.

  • Study and conduct research on cutting-edge security technologies in areas such as access control, operating system security, and system security, including hardware-based security mechanisms for CPUs, GPUs, and specialized accelerators.
  • Cooperate with OS experts, renowned professors and talented students, delivering technical reports and Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
  • Propose new ideas for real-world system security problems to ensure resistance to attacks and recovery from potential compromise under guidance of senior researchers.
  • Publish your findings in top security conferences.

Your areas of expertise

If you have most of the below and a genuine interest in security research, we'd like to hear from you:

  • Student Status: You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in computer science, computer engineering (computer architecture), cyber security, AI security or related areas.
  • OS Basics: You have a solid foundational understanding of how operating systems work (be it Linux, macOS, Android, iOS, or HarmonyOS).
  • System Understanding: You have a basic understanding of computer architecture and are interested in going deeper.
  • Programming: You have solid experience in C or C++.
  • Communication: You are fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Mindset: You have a team-work spirit, the capability to learn quickly and independently as well as a hands-on, can-do attitude.

Internationale Studierende

Studierende von außerhalb der EU dürfen 140 volle oder 280 halbe Tage im Jahr arbeiten (seit März 2024, zuvor 120/240). Ein Werkstudentenvertrag passt meist in diesen Rahmen — prüfe die genauen Grenzen auf deinem Aufenthaltstitel.
