Politikberatung zu verantwortungsvollen Rohstofflieferketten und guter Rohstoffgovernance ist die Kernaufgabe des Sektorvorhabens „Rohstoffe und Entwicklung“. Gemeinsam mit der Bundesanstalt für Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR) unterstützt das Programm das Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) sowohl bei kurzfristigen Anfragen zu tagesaktuellen Themen als auch bei der Analyse von Trends in der nationalen und internationalen Debatte zur Versorgungssicherheit mit Rohstoffen. Dies bein-haltet auch die Beratung zu und Repräsentation in internationalen Initiativen im Rohstoffsek-tor. Das Vorhaben entwickelt darüber hinaus neue Ansätze und Instrumente zu verantwor-tungsvollen Rohstofflieferketten und Rohstoffversorgungssicherheit in Kooperation mit inter-nationalen Partnern und den Auslandsvorhaben der deutschen Entwicklungszusammenar-beit. Weitere relevante Themen sind lokale Wertschöpfung, Geopolitik, Umwelt, und Gender.
