About colayer

colayer is a Berlin-based tech and AI transformation specialist.

We help mid-size and large companies run complex AI & tech transformations end-to-end, from discovery to delivery, with expert teams assembled from our network of 4,500+ vetted freelancers within 48 hours. 🚀

We blend the freedom of freelancing with the community and reliability of a company.

We match top experts with leading firms and scale from individuals to fully managed teams.

Behind it all we're building the colayer Operating System: our own platform plus a growing layer of AI agents and skills for matching, delivery, contracting, analytics, and knowledge sharing — a professional services business powered by AI that delivers measurable outcomes. ✨

Why join our core team?

Help shape an AI-first company and a next-gen working model for tech talent.

You'll see every stage of the startup journey, work in an agile, interdisciplinary team, and collaborate directly with the founding team: experienced serial entrepreneurs who move fast and value ownership. 🚀

🎯 What you'll do

  • Define the product vision and roadmap with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
  • Prioritize features and manage a focused backlog; keep delivery on track.
  • Turn ideas into clear requirements (concise PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria) - clear and precise enough for AI agents to execute on.
  • Implement features and ship hands-on in our stack — React/Supabase, Airtable, Make/n8n, AI coding agents and automation tooling (no need to be an expert on day one).
  • Build and maintain the AI agent layer our team runs on: skills, context files, and automations that remove manual work across the company.
  • Monitor product performance, gather feedback from the team, and drive continuous improvements.
  • Leverage AI tools to design and build UX/UI for our platform

✅ What you bring

  • Currently enrolled in / recently completed Bachelor's/Master's (e.g., business, CS, related).
  • Experience in product management, software projects, or building things end-to-end.
  • AI-first mindset: you work daily with AI tools for research, specs, prototyping, coding, and QA, and you know their limits.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; structured thinking and clear writing.
  • Quick learner: comfortable picking up new tools (APIs, databases, automation logic) in a stack that changes fast.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and thrive in a startup environment.
  • Great talent only: if you're among the best in your cohort and hungry to grow, this is for you. 🚀

💼 Setup & Benefits

  • An exciting and extremely dynamic work environment - no two days are the same.
  • A hybrid work environment with an office in Berlin that you can go to or work 100% remotely.
  • A highly motivated, experienced, and cross-functional team that you can learn from.
  • Flexible working hours that fit around your studies and schedule.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities - the role grows with the company.
  • Networking with professionals in the industry.
  • Start: beginning of October 2026.
