Description provided by Cloud Studios

Cloud Studios is a Berlin-based AI-native product studio. We build focused digital products, validate them with real users and develop the strongest ideas into independent businesses.

Our current priority is an AI visibility platform helping companies understand and improve how they appear across platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude.

We are looking for a Product Designer / UI/UX Intern with strong visual taste who wants to work directly on real products. You will work closely with the founders and have meaningful ownership from initial idea through to shipped experience.

Tasks

  • Design and improve the UI/UX of our AI visibility platform

  • Turn rough ideas and product requirements into polished product experiences

  • Design dashboards, data visualisations, workflows, onboarding flows and product interactions

  • Simplify complex information into clear and intuitive interfaces

  • Explore and compare different design directions quickly

  • Improve existing features based on user and team feedback

  • Help build and maintain a consistent design system

  • Review implemented features and ensure the final product matches the intended design quality

  • Contribute ideas to improve usability, visual quality and the overall product experience

  • Implement your own designs using Claude Code or other AI-assisted development tools

Requirements

You do not need to meet every requirement. We care more about taste and how you think than a perfect CV.

  • Strong visual judgement and attention to detail

  • A portfolio, side project or other work demonstrating your design ability

  • Good understanding of hierarchy, typography, spacing, layout and usability

  • Ability to turn unclear problems into concrete design concepts

  • Ability to explain the reasoning behind your design decisions

  • Care about both aesthetics and functionality

  • Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly

  • Proactive, curious and willing to learn

  • Reliable with meetings and deadlines

  • Comfortable taking ownership while asking for help when needed

Experience with Figma is useful.

Experience with Claude Code, frontend development or AI-assisted development is a strong plus, but not required.

Benefits

  • Work directly on a real product used by customers

  • High level of ownership from the beginning

  • Work closely with the founder rather than through multiple management layers

  • See your designs move from concept to production (quickly)

  • Learn how product, design, engineering, sales and customer feedback connect in an early-stage company

  • Gain hands-on experience with AI-native product development

  • Opportunity to learn Claude Code and implement your own designs

  • Flexible working setup with Berlin, hybrid and remote options

  • Potential ongoing role as a working student or future Product Designer / Venture Associate for strong performers

If you care deeply about how digital products look, feel and behave, we would like to hear from you.

We are especially interested in people who notice the small details, enjoy studying great interfaces and want to understand not only how to make something look better, but how to make the entire product experience better.

Please send:

  1. A short introduction

  2. Your portfolio or 2-3 examples of work you are proud of

  3. One digital product whose design you think is exceptional and a short explanation of why

Working student essentials

What this Design internship in Berlin means for you: the pay rules, the social contributions, and what international students should check before applying.

Weekly hours

Internships have no 20-hour cap, but a voluntary internship longer than three months generally has to pay at least the German minimum wage. Mandatory internships in your study programme are exempt.

Working student rules

Social contributions

Mandatory internships are largely exempt from social contributions. Voluntary internships are treated like regular employment once they run long enough, so contributions usually apply.
