About the Role

As an Index Development Intern, you will work closely with our Index Specialists, gaining invaluable insights and experience in the world of index creation. This internship is designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of index development processes, market trend analysis, and the application of quantitative finance techniques.


An internship of 6 months gives you the opportunity to gain valuable insights in capital markets with the opportunity of continuing your career at Chartered Investment as a Working Student or Trainee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the Development of Indices: Collaborate with the team to identify emerging market trends and opportunities, contributing to the creation of innovative indices.
  • Support Research Initiatives: Help drive research and development projects aimed at enhancing our index creation technologies and methodologies.
  • Collaborate on Bespoke Solutions: Work with internal teams and external partners to assist in developing customized index solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Ensure Operational Accuracy: Participate in the index setup process, ensuring accurate execution of settlements, payments, corporate actions, valuations, bookings, and reconciliations.
  • Product and Index Management: Support the management of products and indices, ensuring timely implementation of corporate actions and conducting monitoring and error analyses.
  • Identify Process Improvements: Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce operational risks, manual efforts, and enhance control systems.
  • Stay Informed on Industry Trends: Stay updated on the latest trends in the finance industry, refining your knowledge and approach to index development.


Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Python and data manipulation tools is highly desirable.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in quantitative finance and market analysis.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Passion for Innovation: A genuine interest in financial markets and a drive to innovate in the field of index development.
