Within the department of “PMT – Processes, Methods and Tools (TZ)” we strive to enable our Tech Centers and Delivery Units to deliver complex technologies in time, in budget and in quality. As a central enabler for the product development we provide compliant processes, methods as well as consistent toolchains and stand for continuous process optimization. We empower every employee to create value for our customers. As a Working Student – Portfolio Management and Reporting at CARIAD, you will shape the future of our engineering tool ecosystem. You’ll work at the intersection of technology, strategy, and governance—driving innovation and efficiency across CARIAD and the Volkswagen Group.

Your work directly contributes to increased transparency, steering capability, and the implementation of CARIAD portfolio management across organizational boundaries and with high visibility at top-management level. You will support the JOIN core team hands-on and take responsibility in orchestrating a strategically relevant, cross-organizational initiative.

What You Will Do

  • Continuously evolve the JOIN initiative as a strategic enabler for portfolio and product management, including ongoing improvement of processes, methods, and tools
  • End-to-end orchestration of JOIN workshops and sprints, including preparation, facilitation, documentation, and consistent tracking of decisions and action items
  • Preparation and follow-up of Steering Committee and top-management meetings, including briefings, decision documents, and structured status updates
  • Cross-work-package coordination and alignment, ensuring synchronization across all JOIN work packages and maintaining a consistent JOIN big picture and communication landscape
  • Enable portfolio-wide transparency by preparing and maintaining portfolio, product, financial, and resource data, complemented by reporting, monitoring, and follow-up activities
  • Support harmonization of CARIAD’s reporting landscape, evaluating existing platforms, defining harmonization strategies, and contributing to pilot projects leveraging Microsoft Copilot for AI‑supported reporting

Who You Are

  • Enrolled student in business administration, engineering, computer science, business informatics, data/business analytics, or a comparable field
  • Strong organizational and structuring skills combined with a reliable, self-driven working style
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in interacting with diverse stakeholder groups
  • High interest in strategic topics, portfolio management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • First experience with Jira/Confluence is a plus
  • Very good written and spoken German and English

NICE TO KNOW

  • Remote work options within Germany
  • Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend up to two years)
  • 20 hours/week, up to 35 hours/week during the semester break
  • Salary: 17,80€/hour
