Description provided by Avocargo 🥑
We are looking for a Business Development Intern (w/d/m) to support the founding team in Berlin or remotely.
Research shows that men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria. Meanwhile, women and other members of marginalized groups often only apply if they check every box. So if you might have what it takes, but don't quite meet every single point on the job description, please get in touch either way. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
Your role in building Avocargo
- Work closely with the founding team to manage the expansion of Avocargo within Berlin and beyond.
- Develop and refine the playbook for expansion within the company.
- Identify business potential of possible expansion territories.
- Manage and take over operational tasks when opening new business areas.
- Act as the main point of contact for politics, authorities, and communities.
- Gather insights that help us develop our products and services further.
- You quickly adjust to new situations.
- You have experience in business development and/or operations.
- You are motivated by the immense effects your actions may have on the business as a whole and your focus area in particular.
- You are looking for an environment that allows you to try out things and make mistakes to learn from.
- You take the initiative and identify issues that you address in the right priority.
- You are happy to get your hands dirty.
- You speak and write German at a proficient level.
- You have at least one key skill that no one else at AVO Mobility has yet.

- Previous startup experience or other small/scrappy team experience, maybe even in a founding position.
- Previous experience in working with cities and communities.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Strong interest in mobility and/or sustainability.
When do you ever get the chance to really shape a company? You will be decisive in getting Avocargo on the road and hopefully, in a few years, you will look back at a time that was among the most exciting in your (professional) life. We are looking to learn as much and as fast as possible - with you and from you.
And of course, you’ll get to ride a lot of electric cargo bikes.
Please send your application including all documents, references, or links you may want us to know about to [email protected]. We will try our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
